Classrooms

The entire facility is newly built on the ground floor of Peachtree Christian Church to accommodate 102 children. The classrooms are custom-designed specifically for infants, toddlers, and preschool children, including children with special needs. The interior has the look and feel of “home,” while utilizing the best possible childcare equipment, furnishings and fixtures, and utilizing specific, researched learning tools.

Playground

The Childtown playground is designed to provide the opportunity for a full range of age-appropriate physical activity and development, along with a variety of surfaces for play. A large green space is available for play, gross motor development, field day activities, summer camp game days, and contact with nature. Children have organized and free play outside twice daily weather permitting.

Safety

Safety and security for the children are paramount in our design model. The facility is at ground-level for the safety of all the children with optimum access to the playground and green space. The facility is fully-sprinklered for fire protection; a limited and card-controlled access is provided through a card entry, monitored security system. A fully independent HVAC system provides customized temperature control.

Access

Childtown is easily accessibly from I-85, I-75, and MARTA. A large parking area close to a covered entrance makes arrival and departure pick-up times easy.

Location, Peachtree Christian Church

Childtown is located on the first floor of Peachtree Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at the corner of Peachtree Street and Spring Street in Midtown Atlanta. Peachtree Christian Church was founded in 1925 to serve the people of Atlanta, and the landmark structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The congregation raised $1-million to build the Childtown facilities in order to fulfill their signature ministry of caring for children and families. Peachtree Childtown offers the children of parents who work or live in Midtown Atlanta an optimum educational experience and excellent child care.
