FacilitiesClassroomsThe full daylight, ground floor of Peachtree Christian Church is dedicated to Peachtree Childtown and accommodates 102 children in ten classrooms. The classrooms are custom-designed specifically for infants, toddlers and preschool children including children with special needs. The interior has the look and feel of "home," but is equipped with the best possible childcare furnishings and fixtures along with carefully chosen and researched learning tools and toys. PlaygroundThe Childtown playground is designed to provide opportunities for the full range of age-appropriate physical activity and development. Children enjoy sand and water play, a two story club house, a cabin, work tables, a large sandbox and a seesaw. A variety of play surfaces are available along with ample green space for gross motor development, field day activities, summer camp game days, and contact with nature. Children play outside twice daily weather permitting. PhotographsClick images for a larger view SafetySafety and security are paramount at Childtown. The facility is at ground-level for optimum access to the securely fenced playground and green space. The building is fully equipped with a sprinkler system for fire protection. Limited, card controlled access is provided through a monitored security system. Carefully prepared emergency plans are in place and well rehearsed. Teachers are trained in CPR, fire safety and first aid. AccessChildtown is easily accessibly from I-85, I-75, and MARTA. A large parking area close to a covered entrance makes arrival and departure pick-up times easy. Location, Peachtree Christian ChurchChildtown is located on the first floor of Peachtree Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) at the corner of Peachtree Street and Spring Street in Midtown Atlanta. Peachtree Christian Church was founded in 1925 to serve the people of Atlanta, and the landmark structure is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The congregation raised $1-million to build the Childtown facilities in order to fulfill their signature ministry of caring for children and families. Peachtree Childtown offers the children of parents who work or live in Midtown Atlanta an outstanding educational experience and excellent child care.
