Food Program

Childtown takes pride in its Food Program. Three years in a row Childtown’s kitchen has received a grade of 100 at inspection time from the Fulton County Department of Health and Wellness. Toddlers through Preschoolers are provided breakfast, mid morning snack, lunch, and mid afternoon snack. If a child is not picked up until closing at 6:30 PM, a late afternoon snack may be given. All meals are prepared in a commercial kitchen and brought to the child’s room in a covered sanitized cart. Meals are served in the room family style to encourage sampling all types of appropriate early childhood food.

Well thought-out menus are developed each week for the toddlers and preschoolers following the USDA guidelines for young children and meeting the standards of Bright from the Start the licensing agency in the State of Georgia for child care centers.

Parents can bring a special diet for their child if the child has allergies or special cultural requirements. Foods brought by parents must also meet the USDA and licensing standards. Some foods are not allowed to be served to young children due to the safety factors and the health related issues. Childtown will not allow parents to bring food for their child into the center that does not pass the USDA and licensing requirements. This includes foods for parties and other special occasions as well.
